Ration Card Karnataka Online Application Form 2022

The applicants applying must have an Aadhar card to apply for a new Ration Card in Karnataka. The detailed application process is written below:

  • Refer to the official website, ahara.kar.nic.in
  • On the homepage, click on the “E-Services” icon in the main menu.
  • Search for the option mentioning the “E-Ration Card” option and then tap on the ‘New Ration Card‘.
  • A new page will open on the screen. The applicants have to choose the “language (Kannada or English)” and then tap on the “New Ration Card Request” to open the page.
  • Choose the card by selecting the option to apply, i.e either Priority Household (PHH) for BPL Ration Card or Non-Priority Household (NPHH) for APL Ration Card.
  • For BPL Ration Card, the applicants have to choose a priority household, then mark the correct option against the question asked.
  • After choosing the option, a new page for the BPL card online application in Karnataka 2022 will be displayed on the screen.
  • Now choose the district, taluk, and acknowledgment number, and then click on the “Go” option to proceed.
  • For APL Ration Card in Karnataka, tap on the Non-Priority Household option.
  • Then the Karnataka APL ration card registration form will be displayed on the screen.
  • The applicants have to submit all the required details asked in the form and click on save.
  • Save the application number for further reference.
  • The applicants will get the ration card within 15 days by paying Rs.100.

Timelines for Issuing Ration Card in Karnataka

All the applicants have to submit a duly completed Karnataka Ration Card online application form. The new ration cards will be issued within 15 days of the successful submission of the application.

Linking of Aadhaar Card with Ration Card

Karnataka Ration Card 2022: Minimum Eligibility Criteria

  1. The applicants applying must be permanent residents of Karnataka.
  2. The households who already don’t have a ration card in the state can apply.
  3. Newly married couples are also eligible to apply.
  4. Citizens with temporary ration cards with expired dates can also apply.

  • On the home page, tap on the “E-Status” icon and then click at the “Status of the new / defending ration card” link.
  • Tap on the respective icons of the district for Ration Card Status.
  • Post that, tap on the “Application Status of New Ration Card” option and verify details.
  • Finally, the new ration card status of the applicants in Karnataka will appear online.

Types of Ration Card Issued in Karnataka

There are 4 kinds of ration cards issued to citizens based on their financial conditions and income level. The different kinds of ration cards issued to citizens of Karnataka include:

Priority House Hold (PHH) Ration Cards

This kind of PHH ration cards is issued to citizens belonging to rural areas of the state. PHH category RCs are further segmented into 2 sub-groups. Through this ration card, food grains at subsidized rates on monthly basis are provided to the people. People can get rice at Rs. 3 per Kg, wheat at Rs. 2 per Kg, and coarse grains at a rate of Rs. 1 per Kg.

Annapurna Yojna (AY) Ration Cards

Annapurna Yojana ration cards will be issued to poor citizens above the age of 65 years.

The Karnataka state government provides them with 10 Kg of food grains on monthly basis.

Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) Ration Cards

This kind of ration card will be issued to those households with an annual income of less than Rs. 15,000. All these families belonging to this group can get food grains at discounted rates than other ration card holders. These households get rice at Rs. 3 per Kg rate and wheat at Rs. 2 per Kg rate.

Non-Priority House Hold (NPHH) Ration Cards

NPHH ration cards are issued to those families having a stable annual income. NPHH ration card holder families who  don’t get food grains at subsidized prize like above mentioned RC holders.
